What is some good, but inexpensive rain gear for outdoor activities?

I need some good inexpensive (no more than 0- 0 each) rain gear. I do a lot of outdoor activities during the spring and summer, so I need something that will keep me dry. Even if I’m outside for several hours, or in more than a light rain. I will need footwear, jacket and pants. I used to have a gore-tex jacket and really liked it; but don’t mind what it is as long as it keeps my dry. It needs to be light, breathable, and easy to move around it.

Any suggestions on brands and where to go? I plan to check out REI, but any other ideas?

Go to Cabels.com sometimes they have great sales. As does Bass Pro but not so much. For that price I would check out ebay also.
